Paul’s law practice focuses on all aspects of water rights, transactions, and adjudications as well as real estate and real property issues. He has experience with land use planning, real estate transactions, due diligence proceedings, development of real property, water resource management, and water resource planning for developers. He also has experience in municipal law and with special district formation, as well as managing water portfolios for municipal clients. Paul has been involved with numerous applications before the Colorado Groundwater Commission and in water court for all types of actions, including for adjudication of surface and groundwater rights, including augmentation plans, appropriative rights of exchange, and storage applications, as well as ensuring client’s water rights are protected from injury in water court proceedings. Paul represents a wide range of clients including municipalities and special districts, ranch and large property owners, and property developers. When not in the office, and depending on the season, Paul can be found kayaking or rafting on any one of Colorado’s many rivers and creeks, or he might be skiing in Colorado’s backcountry with his black lab, Layla.
